New Orleans Night Time Bars & Restaurants
New Orleans comes alive after the sun goes down. If you want to stay up late and have some fun with friends, check out some of these nighttime highlights in New Orleans!
New Orleans tends to be pretty serious when it comes to football. Fans fill every sports bar in town to cheer on the Saints, whether they’re on the field at home or away. Despite how devoted they are, they’re also happy to welcome all other sports fans, and you can watch everything from football to basketball, baseball, and even tennis at these sports bars. There are plenty of flat screens and cold beers to go around!
The line between gay and straight bars is blurry here in New Orleans. Diversity is celebrated in festivals such as Southern Decadence, and even certain holiday celebrations have gay parades. There are gay and gay-friendly bars all over the city, but the most famous ones are on the “Lavender Line” in the French Quarter.
Bourbon Street Bars
You’re sure to find a good time on New Orleans’ most famous street! Bourbon Street has all sorts of entertainment on every corner, encouraging visitors to sing and dance and join in to liven up the party! But if you look past all of the fun in the streets, you might just stumble across some rich history. Some of the oldest bars in the United States are located here, and they welcome visitors 24/7. Behind some of these doors, you might find a bustling hidden courtyard, dueling pianos, specialty drinks, and flaming fountains.
Late Night Food
Feeling hungry? Because the nightlife in New Orleans is so prominent, many of the best restaurants here keep their doors open late as well. You can find just about anything you’re looking for here, from fully-loaded hotdogs to 24/7 breakfasts. No matter what part of the city you’re out in, there’s bound to be at least one restaurant open in your area.
Some of our favorite late-night restaurants include Twelve Mile Limit, Oceana Grill, Lucy’s Retired Surfers Bar & Restaurant, Ernst Café, St. Charles Tavern, and Déjà vu Restaurant and Bar. There are so many other restaurants and bars open around town as well, so you’re bound to find something that suits your stomach’s fancy!
But before you spend all night out on the town, how about you spend the day out on the water? Whiskey Bayou Charters is a fishing charter located in Delacroix, Louisiana, just 45 minutes from downtown New Orleans. So, before you go out partying, bring your friends and have a fun, relaxing day out on our boat catching fish!
