St. Bernard Parish Annual Events
St. Bernard Parish is recognized for its rich heritage and deep traditional roots. Here are some fun annual events that happen in the Parish. We recommend you try coming out to a few!
January
Battle of New Orleans Commemoration
Every year in January, historical reenactors come together at Chalmette Battlefield to commemorate America’s victory over the British. This event is an educational experience that the whole family can enjoy, and it includes musket and cannon firing, campfire cooking, reenactments, and lantern tours.
February
Knights of Nemesis Mardi Gras Parade
In 2004, a group of members from the Krewe of Gladiators, along with some long-time parade riders, came together to form the Knights of Nemesis Social Club and Parade. Their mission is to promote business and fellowship in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. The parade starts at St. Bernard Civic Center.

Louisiana Crawfish Festival
The Louisiana Crawfish Festival features delicious food, live music, amusement rides, handmade crafts, and so much more! All of the funds go back into the community.
April
Irish, Italian, Islenos Parade
This parade has over 43 floats, 1500 members, and 300,000 pounds of produce. It is the largest event in St. Bernard and possibly even the state. The parade celebrates the three unique heritages in St. Bernard – the Irish, Italians, and Islenos. Float riders will be throwing out beads, cups, trinkets, and… vegetables!

Tomato Festival
Saint Bernard Parish residents and visitors are invited to celebrate local foods to kick-off the Creole tomato season. The festival features delicious foods, local entertainment, rides, games, and the Tomato Queen Pageant.
June
Delacroix Seafood Market
The Delacroix Seafood Market is held at Delacroix Pier. Louisiana Sea Grant and the St. Bernard Parish government host the event to provide local commercial fishermen an opportunity to sell their landings directly to the public. There will also be entertainment, food, and more fun!

July
St. Bernard Salutes America
This event features delicious food, live music, face painting, and a firework display in Chalmette, LA.
August
Day of Reflection Breakfast
This event is held at Chalmette High School and is hosted by the Saint Bernard Parish School System to celebrate the achievements of the schools.
September
Sippin in the Sunset
This event is sponsored by the Old Arabi Neighborhood Association and features local food, live music, arts & crafts, wine, and beer.
October
Old Arabi Sugar Festival
This event is held by the Old Arabi Neighborhood Association and features delicious food, music, crafts, kid’s activities, a cooking contest, and historic tours of Old Arabi.
November
Bayou Road Balloon Festival
This festival is located in Chalmette, LA, and features multiple hot air balloons each evening, along with tethered rides (if the weather permits it). There will also be local music, carnival rides, food and beer booths, games, and arts & crafts vendors.
December
Christmas at the Complex
This fun family event includes train rides, pictures with Santa, cookies and hot chocolate, a tree lighting ceremony, and performances and caroling by the St. Bernard Parish school children.
